In
the middle of the heart of Italy is situated a charming stronghold with
a high tower dating back to 1300. Originally owned by the Trinci
family, umbrian medieval lords, Torre dei Guelfi is now a superb
residence where you can experience a luxurious stay surrounded by a
fascinating historical atmosphere. This magnificent structure is divided
into 2 complexes
which are connected to each other through a wide panoramic terrace. The
entrance to the house is through an opening in the medieval wall. Once
you have
passed through it you will find a nice pathway that will lead you to the
church
and to the garrison. The careful restoration of the church brought back to light amazing vaults and a
300’s crucifixion which is now being restored. The garrison is divided into two
floors: on the ground floor there is a double bedroom and a bathroom equipped for the
needs of disabled people while the first floor hosts the wide and homey kitchen.
Through a staircase you can reach the large panoramic terrace that gives access
to the solemn tower. The tower homes a
lovely fireplace room, a cozy living room and 3 master bedrooms each of which
with ensuite bathroom. The bedroom on the top of the
tower is a big suite with a small sitting area and access to the roof terrace with an
amazing view on the village and on the Umbrian hills. All rooms are equipped to allow you the perfect
temperature thanks to under floor heating system and fan
convectors. Internet access is free, thanks to wireless controllers. The
bedrooms all have plasma TVs with both pay per view and free channels, the mattresses
are all orthopaedic while the sheets and the towels are all of high, precious
quality. The ensuite bathrooms are all furnished with relaxing shower stalls
with a pressurization that emits hot or cold water at your pleasure. Torre dei Guelfi is situated in a splendid position
surrounded by Umbria’s winding hills dotted with the typical umbrian historical
villages. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the sun as it goes down and
hides behind the green hills changing nature’s colors. This makes it also a
perfect location for weddings and also for a romantic weekend getaway.

The Garrison
On the ground
floor of the garrison is located a spacious double bedroom for disabled people with a bathroom with a box-shower and air conditioner. The
high ceiling with wooden beams, the parade bench decorated with the typical Baroque
vegetation together with the walnut and oak wooden wardrobes gives you the feel
of living the lords’ life during Medieval age. On the same level there also is
a wide bathroom completely recovered by 18th century tiles and with
all the facilities and comforts needed by disabled people.
The first floor
of the garrison there is a large kitchen. The pots and pans in copper together
with the cooking utensils hanging on the walls around the kitchen create a nice
and warm atmosphere where you can also dine during the winter time.
The Terrace As you get out of the kitchen you find yourself on the
wide terrace which is equipped with outdoor ceramic vases with colorful
flowers, tables and chairs and where you can enjoy a meal “al fresco”, use it
as a solarium to sunbathe during the afternoon or simply just relax listening to the breeze of the
wind in the evening.
The Tower (33 mt):
From a wooden staircase on the terrace you can reach
the small tower door characteristic of the Medieval age when it was used for
defense purposes and made by finely carved stone blocks of the period.
As you enter the third
floor you arrive to a large room dominated by a huge fireplace flanked on
its left and on its right by to church benches from the last decades of the
‘600.
A wooden staircase leads you down to the living room
with comfy sofas and armchairs where you can rest and relax reading, surfing
the internet through the internet spot or listening to music with the house’s
stereo. Climbing up to the fourth floor you arrive at the first large bedroom of the tower
furnished with ‘700 style with wooden beams.
On the fifth
floor there is another big bedroom the same size of the other one with a
barrel vault made of brick and stone.
On the sixth
floor there is the last bedroom, a bit smaller than the other two
but the most fascinating being once the guardians’ recovery room from bad
